What’s beautiful in Dofus ? Dofus

Let’s redo it in Blender

First game ready asset

This model was made a bit after following the Blender Guru’s donut tutorial. It was my first attempt at sculpting, texture painting and porting models to Skyrim

Self critique

The model can be improved by making the blue engraving follow the sword shape at the top, making a longer and thinner guard and most importantly, filling the bottom as it is currently hollow (yes I forgot to grid fill before rendering)

On the second sword, the design of the handle seems more random than intentional and is overall ugly. It’s true in particular for the purple engravings

The best intentions but the worst result

Thank you !

One advice seen multiple times tutorials is to work at real life scale, yet there is still a scale issue as the hilt is too short. Why ?

When blocking out, I looked up the correct length of a hilt and set up a cylinder of the correct length that I would model on and sculpt. However my design failed my logic

The hilt is extruded at the top and gobbles up on the length of the blade. That extra length that is not part of the handle, should have been excluded from the total hilt length. I should there have added back that extra lenght but I didn’t. Therefore the hilt is too short. Thanks to everyone for pointing it out
